Once We Were Punks

Frank Shouldice’s acclaimed documentary Once We Were Punks is being released in selected cinemas from May 15th.

Once We Were Punks tells the story of four school mates in 1980’s Bailieboro, Cavan that form a punk band, The Panic Merchants, and set their sights on world domination.

They have their fun but it doesn’t take off. 25 years later, at a funeral, the lads reunite and conversations spark, igniting a new beginning – The Sons of Southern Ulster.

The doc was a huge success and sold out its showings at the IFI Documentary Festival and The Galway Film Fleadh and is a heartwarming snapshot of a disappearing Ireland.
