This January, The Lighthouse Cinema has a great line up scheduled, with two undisputed classics sticking out. David Lynch’s strange and dreamy neo-noir masterpiece, Mullholland Drive will be showing on the 20th. One of Lynch’s most praised work, the film follows two women navigating through a seductive yet unsettling showcase of Hollywood. Its hypnotic dreamlike style is sure to stick with you long after you leave the theater.
For fans of the French New Wave, Jean-Luc Godard’s classic, Breathless will be playing on the 25th. Known for its jump cuts, timeless existential aesthetics, and well balanced blend of action, romance and noir, the film is a prime example of New Wave at its best. Both these movies absolutely belong in a theater so these rare showings are well worth catching.
