Jonathan Swift Festival

Awaken your inner giant at The Jonathan Swift Festival as it explores the life and legacy of one of Ireland’s greatest luminaries. Challenge yourself at one of their public debates and discussions or have your funny bone tickled at Swift Laughs.

Have a Swift Beer at their 18th Century Tasting Session. Transport yourself to fantastical lands of music and performance. Lose yourself in the magic and mayhem of “Gulliver’s Fair” in which the marketplace of Swift’s most famous work comes to life.

From satire to science, this year’s Festival invites you to celebrate with us the many words and worlds of Jonathan Swift. Highlights include The Power of Comedy with comedian Tommy Tiernan in conversation with author Roddy Doyle.

Writer Karl O’Neill (pictured) was joined in Saint Patrick’s Cathedral on Monday, November 5th by school children from St. Brigid’s Primary School, The Coombe, for the programme launch of the Jonathan Swift Festival 2018.

The festival will run from Thursday, 29th November to Sunday, 2nd December and celebrates the life and legacy of Ireland’s most famous satirist and humanitarian Jonathan Swift.

This year’s programme will include talks, performances and exhibitions in venues across Dublin City.
