
Author interviews, history talks, live music, children’s events and much more take place in the heart of Co. Meath, this June as the celebrated Hinterland Festival returns to the heritage town of Kells.
Running from June 25th –28th 2026, the festival boasts a four-day programme of more than 70 events, including author interviews, history talks, live music, film screenings, comedy, workshops, and a dedicated children’s literature programme.
This year’s line-up includes national and international contributors such as Kirsty Wark, Larry Lamb, Liz Nugent, Katriona O’Sullivan, Dermot Bannon, and Sarah Breen and Emer McLysaght.
Highlights also include the annual TypeTrail art installation series, and the much-loved Lit Crawl.
A must for lovers of books, ideas and culture.
