Dublin City Council recently unveiled the shortlist for the 2025 Dublin Literary Award, one of the world’s most prestigious literary prizes, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
The six shortlisted nominees this year are headed by our own Paul Lynch, who’s dystopian novel Prophet Song secured last year’s Booker Prize.
Also in the running are James by Percival Everett, Daniel Mason’s North Woods, Not a River by Selva Almada, Michael Crummey’s The Adversary and finally, our own personal favourite, We Are Light by Dutch author Gerda Blees.
At €100,000, the award is the most valuable annual prize for a single work of fiction published in English, and the eagerly anticipated winner of the 2025 Dublin Literary Award will be announced on Thursday, May 22nd as part of the International Literature Festival Dublin (ILFD).
