The Powerscourt Townhouse in Dublin is set to host a unique and striking art exhibition in collaboration with Irish musician, journalist and photographer Eamon Carr.
The artwork is a collection of photographs gathered by Eamon while on tour with his band Horslips in the late 1970’s and aims to paint a picture of what America was like during that period. The dichotomy between the change in culture across state borders and how the world has changed in the last 50 years makes for thought-provoking viewing.
As Carr puts it “When Bono said he had two conflicting visions of America, I understood implicitly what he meant. It was a similar revelation that prompted me to take these photographs many years earlier.”
This compelling collection will be on display from June 11th to 19th.
Visions Of America 1978-79 by Eamonn Carr is at Powerscourt Townhouse Centre, D2ublin 2, June 11th – 19th.
