Music Network and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council have announced a call for applications for the dlr Musicians-in-Residence Scheme 2025. The scheme, which is now in its eleventh year, provides musicians with space and time to develop new work, collaborate with other artists and present their music through open rehearsals, workshops and public performances in Dún Laoghaire.
This year’s residencies will run from May to November 2025, with two residencies available to musicians working in any genre. One is aimed at established musicians, and offers a maximum award of €12,000; the other is for emerging musicians, with a maximum award of €7,500.
Applicants can be individual musicians or groups, and must be connected to Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown either by living in or being from the area, or by proposing a project with links with the area, for example, by taking inspiration from the location or by engaging with local communities or musicians.
The deadline for applications is Friday 21 February at 2pm. Last year’s recipients of the award were percussionist Brian Fleming, violinist Jane Hackett and keyboardist Luke Dunford.
