Dublin Gallery Weekend 2025 and the Guinness Storehouse have joined together to continue the 25th anniversary celebrations of one of the world’s most iconic cultural attractions. Guinness’s centuries-old legacy of supporting the arts is reflected in the collaboration, with a series of events at St. James’ Gate and through the wider Liberties, running from November 7th to 9th inclusive.
Under the multifaceted creative platform These Walls, Guinness Storehouse have been commissioning and showcasing ambitious contemporary art grounded in Dublin 8. The aim of the public art and cultural placemaking initiative is to bring site responsive art into public spaces, and celebrate the local identity of the Liberties. Of These Walls and the cultural partnership with Dublin Gallery Weekend 2025, Guinness Storehouse Managing Director Catherine Toolan said:
“As we celebrate the 25th year of the Guinness Storehouse, we are thrilled to join forces with Dublin Gallery Weekend in a pivotal year for visual arts in Ireland. The Landmarks exhibition, launching this November, is the latest chapter of These Walls, an ambitious public art and placemaking project founded by the Guinness Storehouse in 2025. Through this Dublin Gallery Weekend collaboration, we deepen our commitment to commissioning contemporary art and amplifying fresh voices, building upon the Guinness storied legacy of patronage and community investment in the vibrant heart of Dublin 8.”
For Dublin Gallery Weekend 2025, the Guinness Storehouse will reveal These Walls: Landmarks, a newly commissioned exhibition by Irish artists Hazel O’Sullivan and Niall de Buitléar, who have responded to Guinness’s archival content from the legendary ROSC exhibitions of 1984 and 1988, which were held at the Guinness Hopstore. These ambitious new works will hang within the Storehouse’s magnificent central atrium where visitors to the experience can view them from November 7th, marking the launch of the highly anticipated Christmas programme at the Guinness Storehouse which will see the iconic building come to life with festive flair.
Eibhlin Colgan, Guinness Archive & Heritage Manager said, “Guinness has long supported the visual arts in Ireland. The ROSC exhibitions of 1984 and 1988 were pivotal moments in bringing national and international artists together for a public exhibition, transforming the 1880s Hopstore at St Jame’s Gate into the perfect backdrop for groundbreaking contemporary art. As part of the These Walls: Landmarks exhibition, Hazel O’Sullivan and Niall de Buitléar have drawn on materials from the Guinness Archive related to those ROSC shows, using the collections as inspiration for fresh work that will be displayed at the Guinness Storehouse. In doing so, the exhibition reflects how art, history and architecture continue to inform each other in inspiring ways.”

At 8am on the morning of Friday November 7th, take part in a unique creative breakfast overlooking Dublin. Rising Conversations at Gravity Bar will be moderated by Michael McDermott, exploring the importance of making space for art in Dublin. Panelists discussing this critical issue which is impacting artists of all disciplines will include Annie Fletcher, Director of IMMA, Eibhlin Colgan, Guinness Archive & Heritage Manager and artists Hazel O’Sullivan and Niall de Buitléar.
