Kaleidoscope Night

Kaleidoscope Night is back after the summer break and diving into September with an evening of exquisite aural delicacy for your ears. Expect new projects, old-but-new instruments, folky sounds, forgotten composers, quivering strings and superb musicianship!

Regulars can look forward to a new project from Neil Ó Lochlainn based on a series of paintings entitled ‘Bríd, Daughter of the Dagda’ by artist Patsy Connolly, which brings together four of the most versatile and exciting musicians working in Ireland today from various backgrounds including Irish traditional music, jazz and contemporary music.

In addition, Indie-Folk Damsel Duo (Beth Meyers & Monica Mugan) return to Kaleidoscope Night with their many instruments, intricate arrangements and tight vocal harmonies. They’ll be followed by work from the rarely heard Neo Romantic Irish composer Mary Dickenson – Anuer’s violin sonata and Duo will be performed by Erin Hennessy and Molly O’Shea.

Meanwhile, Rachel Factor brings her replica of Queen Elizabeth’s Virginal (harpsichord family) and Eamon Sweeney on baroque guitar to perform early 16th & 17th century repertoire.

Musicians:

Rachel Factor (virginal) & Eamon Sweeney (Baroque guitar)
