This June, the Irish Film Institute presents Dietrich x Garbo, a season celebrating two of cinema’s most iconic and enduring stars. Running until June 29th, audiences can rediscover the brilliance of Marlene Dietrich and Greta Garbo through twelve landmark films that defined their careers and reshaped Hollywood’s golden age.
Though often compared and occasionally cast as rivals, Dietrich and Garbo embodied contrasting personas—one provocative and political, the other elusive and enigmatic. Highlights include The Blue Angel, Camille, Morocco, Queen Christina, and Judgement at Nuremberg.
