Only a year old, the Silly Goose enjoys a family feel and offer craft beers, cocktails, gin tea pots and an innovative kitchen. Behind the bar you can find Paul Derham, who has really immersed himself in the cocktail culture.

“It’s a really great place to work and has a family feel about it. With craft beers, cocktails, gin tea pots and a refurbished kitchen that is always innovating and trying out new dishes that can pair up with our cocktails, spirits and beers. It has become one of the number one spots in Cork to spend your weekend and was recently nominated for pub of the year in the Irish Restaurant Awards.”

“I am a huge fan of Jägermeister. I believe Jägermeister is highly underestimated in terms of taste and its inclusion in cocktails. It’s a fantastic core ingredient and also a great addition in any cocktail as it can produce a number of different flavours. We are currently developing a new cocktail with Jägermeister as the core ingredient. The 56 ingredients they process in order to make Jägermeister allows you to taste a whole array of flavours and therefore combine all the flavours in a cocktail that can be really tasty.”

“My favourite Jägermeister drink is the combination of Jägermeister, Ginger Beer, fresh lime, a slice of cucumber and ice, it’s called a Root 56. It is a real summer drink with a fruity finish and we took that on board when designing a Jägermeister cocktail for the bar. The cocktail contains Jägermeister, peach schnapps, fresh lemon juice, cranberry juice, crushed ice and a small finish of raspberry. It’s the perfect summer recipe.”

“I don’t believe a copycat brand can get the right blend of all the 56 ingredients that Jägermeister has. The re-invention of Jägermeister as a more central cocktail ingredient will give it a monopoly over its alternatives and this should push it even further ahead of any other brand.”

Never accept copycats.

Please drink Jägermeister responsibly.
