If you fancy crab, lobster and all that jazz then take yourself off to the picturesque coastal village of Dalkey at the end of the month for the return of the ever popular Dalkey Lobster Fest which takes place over the weekend of Friday August 26th to Sunday August 28th.
Expect plenty of live interactive food demos, tastings and free events over the three day festival, as Dalkey’s restaurants, cafes and pubs place locally sourced lobster and crab center stage. Crustacean lovers will find themselves spoiled for choice with a mouthwatering selection of terrific seafood on offer throughout the festival weekend.
There’s plenty else going on too, with street performers, balloon artists and plenty of musical entertainment guaranteed to keep the whole family entertained.
This year’s dedicated Kids Zone features crazy golf, giant slides, puppets, magic shows and bouncy castles, all dedicated to keeping the little ones amused throughout the festival weekend.
Music-wise the organiser’s have put together an impressive lineup of international and local artists. Festival-goers can look forward to a fantastic selection of music courtesy of Paddy Sherlock, MacFleetwood and the Cuban All Stars, to name but a few.
This year’s chosen charity is the Down Syndrome Centre.
