“You’ve gotta hear this, it will change your life forever” are words that are unlikely used to describe this Shins album very often. Despite an absense of five years and a complete spring cleaning of band members, James Mercer’s main musical outlet remains much the same as it did when it last left off with Wincing The Night Away. Mercer knows his way around a softly hooky tune but the thrill (if that is what the Shins ever dealt in) is gone.
