Sounds Out: Sour Blood – SUAS

Cirillo’s

Sour Blood, is the nomme de plume of Kevin Gleeson, a Tipperary born, Dublin based independent musician. He has recently, unveiled ‘SUAS’, a breathtaking debut of unusual ingenuity.

Taking nods from fellow Dublin experimental wonders like Rachael Lavelle and Kojaque, and forging a unique voice that at times recalls Thom Yorke backed by a chamber orchestra, and others Bright Eyes stepping in with a Tom Waits obsessed jazz ensemble.

Incredibly ambitious, the dizzying array of range and textures is beautifully realised by the engineering efforts of Brendan Jenkinson (Villagers, Aoife Nessa Francis, John Francis Flynn).

A stunning debut long play, building on the incredible response to 2019’s ‘Good Nevers’ EP.

Available on all streaming platforms right now. Give it a listen. Its a good one.
