It makes sense that sometime TD reviewer Orlando (nom-de-beats Orquesta) is a member of the Carl Sagan fan-club. Our Final Expedition is like a good episode of Cosmos: a personal voyage through the outer reaches, created with a verve engaging for the subject as much as the creator. An exquisitely-produced mesh of woodwind and mallet sounds combined with non-aggressive Carribean/South American beats make this a focussed, amiable primer of fringe genres, that is clearly the work of an enthusiast, and not a dilettante.
