Lauren Flax – You’ve Changed

NYC hipsters have flocked around Lauren Flax’s debut single like grannies around a Michael Guiney’s January Sale. A melodic house track with all the addictivity of a Gui Boratto jam, its USP is a Sia guest vocal (maybe the Aussie songstress will be this year’s multi-tasking Antony Hegarty?), with the former Zero 7 star singing a melody that more than faintly recalls TLC’s ‘Waterfalls’. We’re suckers for any dance track with a drum drop, and Lauren Flax would put Soul II Soul to shame. Already a household name in her Williamsburg neighbourhood, courting press from the New Yorker and Fader, and in the middle of a Fischerspooner support tour the Chinese might have made a mistake- Is it the year of the Flax instead?
