If you’re one of those Animal Collective fans for whom Danse Manatee remains a touchstone of sanity-testing goodness, the chances are you will embrace the abrasive, unhinged art-noise of Black Dice. Then again, if you’re into Danse Manatee, the chances are you’re already a Black Dice devotee. Their 6th LP (possibly named after one of the Mr. Men) is grotesque, testing music, full of analog burbles and skronks that makes no pretensions to pop music. Jerk and writhe along.
