Walter’s has been plying its trade in Dun Laoghaire since the year 1904, but more recent times have seen the upstairs section of the pub transformed into an event and concert space with its own bar.
Now home to the Rendezvous Jazz Club, this month sees the venue play host to The Genuine Jazz Orchestra, a seventeen-piece Jazz Big Band led by drummer Ben Cooper and multi-instrumentalist Podge Kilbride.
The ensemble frequently features renowned jazz soloists and rising stars of the Dublin jazz scene, in addition to guest vocalists including Charlie Moon, Niamh Kavanagh and more.
Meanwhile, August sees a special Swing Version of the Club, inspired by the arrangements of the Postmodern Jukebox. Jazz fans can expect a buzzy evening featuring modern pop classics from Moloko, Abba, Pink and others reworked in a vintage swing style.
