Bringing their hook-laden electro-melancholia to the intimate surrounds of the Hugh Lane Gallery, I Am The Cosmos will perform a very special set marking the end of the remarkable A Modern Panarion exhibition. Comprised an array of works inspired by Theosophical thinkers and modern occultism, A Modern Panarion features pieces from a stellar collection of artists including the late Derek Jarmon, Bea McMahon and Garrett Phelan. It’s no secret we’re living in a golden age of Irish brewing. With more and more craft beer bars popping up the demand for quality, locally brewed ales is at all time high and there is no better place to sample the fruits of this brew boom than at the annual All Ireland Craft Beer Festival. With over 50 brewers and 200 different beers and ciders (many of which produced specifically for the festival) on offer as well as a slew of artisanal eats to keep your tubes sufficiently lined, Beerfest is undoubtedly the highlight of the Irish gastroholic calendar. Oscar winning documentarian Alex Gibney’s latest film, Finding Fela, charting the life and influence of Afro-beat godhead Fela Kuti premiers in the Sugar Club this Saturday. To celebrate, Choice Cut’s have put together an evening stuffed with pan-African funkiness. Following the  8.30 screening of the much anticipated film, Ireland’s leading proponents of Kuti’s unique brand of euphoric grooves, The Dublin Afrobeat Ensemble, will be saluting the great man in their own unique style, keeping the festivities going into the wee small hours.
