IN THE FRAME

BK

Elise Fisher

“I call this photo BK, I’ll let you guess why. BK is part of the street photography part of my practice.

I am a flâneuse, I walk, I see; no expectation, no intention, just welcoming what the world offers.

What struck me when making the image was the unexpected emptiness of this fast food place at lunchtime under the strong Spanish sunshine. Visually, it had a very graphic feel, but it also triggered emotionally a feeling of inadequacy.

BK was exhibited in Halftone 2019 and continues to be available in The Library Project in Temple Bar. I want to thank Dominic Turner from Exhibit A who did a great job on keeping the vibrancy of the colours on the printed version.”
