Everything you wanted to know about Bladerunner but were afraid to ask Freud!!

2 people are in with a chance to win a free ticket each to the “Capitalism, cops, psychoanalysis and politics” talks by Todd McGowan professor of film studies (at the University of Vermont), Saturday 19th May (2-6pm) at DCU, School of Nursing.

Todd will base his talk on capitalism and cops on his interpretation of Bladerunner 2049. He will also speak about Paranoia and Populism. Both talks will be followed by panel-led discussions and Q & A sessions with the audience.

This is the first time Todd McGowan is presenting his work in Ireland and the event promises to be a fascinating one. Renowned for his witty and accessible lecture style, Todd also runs a podcast (whytheory?) and has written over 30 books dealing with film, psychoanalysis, politics, and enjoyment. His books on David Lynch and Christopher Nolan are well known to film studies scholars and cinematophiles alike.

He will also be speaking on the new “Twin Peaks” at a David Lynch and Freud festival the following weekend (26-27 May) in London.
