Following a fire at the front of Books Upstairs last month, like a phoenix from the flame, the hospitable folk there will be keeping the lights on late this Thursday, November 20th, for a cosy night of Christmas shopping.
You’re invited to join them between the golden hours of 6pm and 8pm, when you can look forward to 10% off everything, heaps of bookish treats from your favourite publishers, and complimentary elixirs courtesy of the legends at Craft Cocktails.
Browsers can also look forward to delicious cinnamon cookies made by Camerino Bakery, while keeping an eye out for some surprise appearances by a number of authors, who’ll be rolling up their sleeves and doing some signings at the main event.
A crack team of booksellers will also be on hand with top tips and gift-picking wizardry, and everyone who shops on the night goes into a draw to win a bundle of gorgeous free books. Not bad for a Thursday night in mid November.
Space is tight, so you’ll need to register for either the 6pm or 7pm slot — they’ll be checking the guest list at the door. The first batch of tickets vanished quicker than a TikTok attention span, but don’t panic: more tickets drop Monday morning.
It’s a great way to kick off the season, so keep your eyes peeled. It’s going to be a cracker!
