Junior Brother, Lullahush, Vanessa Power, Plámásing and more will feature at a new one-day celebration of Irish music, art, craft and conversation at Pot Duggan’s, Ennistymon, on Saturday, September 19th.
Bringing together live music, DJs, visual art, workshops and conversation, An Tóstal will fill the renowned West Clare venue with a line-up spanning contemporary Irish folk, electronic music, craft and creative culture.
The event takes its name from the original An Tóstal, meaning “the gathering”, a nationwide festival launched in 1953 to celebrate Irish culture and bring communities together. Beamish has a connection to that original celebration, with the brewery producing a special An Tóstal stout for the 1953 festival. Today, An Tóstal will bring that spirit back to life with some of Ireland’s most exciting musicians and artists.
Kerry singer-songwriter Junior Brother heads up the bill, bringing his distinctive voice and richly lyrical songwriting to Ennistymon. Known for intense and unpredictable live shows, he blends traditional Irish instrumentation with something altogether more experimental. 
Also on the bill is Lullahush, the West of Ireland producer and multi-instrumentalist who brings traditional Irish music into conversation with contemporary electronic sounds.
The music continues with DJ sets from Sally Cinnamon, Ricky Chong and Piqué. Away from the music, Vanessa Power of Signs Of Power will run a hand-painted sign workshop, a live mural will take shape throughout the day. Plámásing, the project of Fionn Phelan, will host a fireside conversation.
At its core, An Tóstal is a gathering. A chance to settle in for the afternoon, enjoy great music and art, discover something new, and share a few pints with mates into the night.
