Barry Keoghan’s career continues to go from strength to strength, and the Dublin-born actor is rapidly becoming one of the biggest names in Hollywood. In recent years, Keoghan has been prolific with his performances, and that is set to continue over the next few years.
One of the most exciting recent developments was the announcement that he will play a key role in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. The highly anticipated spinoff from the hugely popular television series will give Keoghan a chance to show another side to his acting range.
Actor Confirmed to Play Key Role in Upcoming Gangster Flick
After six seasons of Peaky Blinders, Steven Knight’s hugely popular gangster offering ended in 2022. Viewers weren’t satisfied and needed more, though, and it was later announced that there would be a feature film set a few years after the events of the series. Production for Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man is likely to be complete now, and the picture is set for a 2026 release on Netflix.
Details about The Immortal Man have been scarce, but reports have given details on which cast members would be returning to the action. Cillian Murphy of course will reprise his role as Thomas Shelby, and he’ll be joined by Stephen Graham, Sophie Rundle, Ned Dennehy, Packy Lee, and Ian Peck from the series. Keoghan is one of the new cast members alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Tim Roth, and Jay Lycurgo.
Keoghan Rapidly Becoming One of Ireland’s Biggest Stars
To say he’s only 33, Keoghan has already had a hugely impressive career in cinema. Along with roles in Dunkirk and The Green Knight, he has also appeared in blockbusters such as Eternals and The Batman. In the latter, he only appeared in an unnamed cameo role, but there has been speculation that he could be set to play the Joker in the next offering from Matt Reeves. However, this isn’t yet confirmed.
Keoghan is the latest actor to promote Ireland on the world stage and is helping the country ever relevant presence in the entertainment industry. The Emerald Isle has had many other stars over the years, but it is most famous for its idyllic setting and its associations with luck. Because of this, Ireland is often represented in the online slots market, where there are Megaways casino games like 9 Pots of Gold Megaways that promote Irish culture.
The Immortal Man isn’t the only upcoming picture that fans of Keoghan will be able to see him in. The prolific actor is also set to star in Crime 101 alongside Chris Hemsworth and Mark Ruffalo, and the American and French film, Butterfly Jam. All of these roles will allow the Irishman to show different parts of his skillset, and will lead more filmmakers to try to secure him for future parts.
The Immortal Man is set to be an epic conclusion to Peaky Blinders, and it will be great to see Keoghan involved. At just 33, the Dublin star is using roles like this to propel his career forward and could soon be among Hollywood’s biggest names.
