The Pepper Pot is 15 years old!
The legendary café on the first floor in the Powerscourt Townhouse Centre on South William Street is set to mark the big day by celebrating with a cuppa and a slice of delicious birthday cake at 3pm today – and everyone is invited!
Owner, Marian Kilcoyne, has been baking and serving gorgeous Irish bakes and café fare since first opening The Pepperpot Café back in June 2010. The enterprising baker is dedicated to slowness in all food preparations, and her in-house bakery forms the backbone of the menu, which incorporates seasonal and local produce.
From breakfast through to lunch, everything is made fresh, with the best-quality local ingredients and a focus on zero food waste. The dishes on the menu reflect a delicious symphony of flavours from a toasted bagel with Irish smoked salmon with caper and dill cream cheese to Turkish eggs with poached eggs, garlicky yoghurt, hazelnut dukkah, drizzled with Aleppo oil and confit garlic butter. All that, and a selection of delicious daily lunch specials which are highly sought after by regulars.

To mark the big day, at 3pm today, The Pepper Pot team will be taking a few moments to enjoy a slice of cake and a cuppa with customers and friends. They’ll be downing spatulas and tea towels, as they gather together to sing Happy Birthday with a special celebration cake, baked in-house.
Marian and the team at The Pepper Pot have issued a generous invitation to Dubliners to come and help them celebrate their big milestone, with an open invitation to drop in and enjoy the official birthday celebrations at 3pm this afternoon.
It promises to be a lovely way to mark the big day, and everyone here at Totally Dublin wishes Marian and her team a very happy 15th birthday.
Here’s to many more!
