As interest in non-alcoholic choices continues to grow, former Ireland rugby star Peter O’Mahony’s Active Brewing Company has taken to the pitch, brewing up a brace of full flavour 0.0% beers.
Based in Cork, the brewery’s first releases feature a non-alcoholic lager and a pale ale developed with a focus on balance and refreshment.
Taste-wise, the lager boasts a clean malt base and a light, refreshing finish, while subtle noble hop character adds gentle floral and herbal notes for a smooth, crisp, satisfying brew.
Meanwhile the alcohol-free pale ale features a blend of American hops giving citrus and tropical notes, balanced by a gentle malt backbone. With fresh hop character and a smooth, easy drinking body, it’s been described as ‘a flavourful yet approachable beer’.

Peter O’Mahony marks a significant step for Active Brewing Company as its new 0.0% Lager and Pale Ale roll out exclusively across Tesco Ireland stores nationwide, introducing the Cork-crafted non-alcoholic range to shelves in more than 130 locations and online, and making it easier than ever for customers to enjoy a full-flavour alcohol-free option.

The brews recently became more widely available through Tesco Ireland stores, providing an easy way for customers to try a homegrown non-alcoholic Irish option.
According to Peter O’Mahony, “Making good non-alcoholic options accessible has been a big part of the vision from day one, so seeing that come to life in a retailer like Tesco feels incredibly rewarding. Hearing the feedback from customers over the past few weeks has been genuinely brilliant.”
Perfect for designated drivers, watching a match at home, or catching up with friends, Active Brewing Company’s non-alcoholic offerings are available now in 130 Tesco stores nationwide and online. RRP €2.75.
