Over at The Tenters they’re leaning hard into comfort this month, ditching the worthy resolve of Dry January for warming pies in a culinary initiative they’re calling Pie January.
The Dublin 8 pub has declared that this month is all about golden pastry, rich gravy and generous fillings — the kind of food that makes cold evenings feel instantly better.
Diners can look forward to savouring classic gastro-pub favourites like slow-braised beef and vegetable, chicken and mild curry, and old-school Chicken, Mushroom and Leek pies.

The menu will rotate across the month, with vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options making it an easy win for mixed tables and midweek meet-ups.
As GM Roderick Vastenburg puts it, “Dry January can feel quite earnest. Pie January is our way of lightening the mood. It is about creating a warm place to land midweek, serving food people genuinely look forward to, and giving January a bit of comfort without making a song and dance about it.”
Served daily throughout January, pies start from €19 and come with either hand-cut fries or a side salad – guaranteed to be a big hit with the city’s pie-lovers.
