Over on Dublin’s north side, the accommodating folk at The Big Romance continue to facilitate a variety of innovative ways to marry sound, drinks and good company.
This month sees Women in Irish Whiskey curate a special Whiskey + Vinyl Listening Night dedicated to pairing some of the country’s finest whiskies with what they nicely describe as ‘the rich warm crackle of vinyl’.
They’re inviting fans of great whiskey to take a beat, slow down and enjoy some lovely pours accompanied by a selection of timeless sounds at the Parnell Street Boozer.

We don’t know what’s on their playlist, but we’re secretly hoping to hear the voices of Nina Simone and Joni Mitchell amplified via the venue’s sublime Toby Hatchett sound system. 6.30pm, Tuesday July 29th. Tickets cost €25 via Eventbrite.
Meanwhile those who enjoy their Sundays soundtracked by Jazz are invited to round off their weekends with a buzzy live musical performance in the company of Organ Freeman and Friends. The music kicks off every Sunday from 6pm. Walk ins welcome.
