The exhibition La Grande Illusion hosted at Hugh Lane Gallery reveals artist Brian Maguire’s uncompromising fight against social injustices and their legacies. The display includes art from a particularly active period for the artist, 2007-2024, as he attempted to document the nature of war and its impact on the disenfranchised and our environment. Maguire’s work encapsulates social issues including class, gender, and post-colonialism, but the exhibit focuses on his representations of the fragility of human rights. The exhibition will continue until 23rd of March 2025. Admission is free.
