Dublin City Council’s Dublin Festival of History recently announced its programme of events for 2026, which are taking place from September 26th to October 11th at various venues across Dublin.
The festival opens with The Big Weekend — a packed two-day programme of talks, debates and panel discussions — and will close on Sunday October 11th with a special European History Day at the Royal Irish Academy of Music.

Taking place citywide at numerous venues and libraries etc, the programme reflects the extraordinary variety of Dublin’s history.
Programmed by our good friend Donal Fallon there are over 300 events on the bill covering everything from Football to Literature, Art to Politics and much much more.
