Kick off the weekend with an evening of talks, art and performance centered on the issues surrounding women’s rights and equality. Now in their 4th year running, ROSA’s Bread & Roses festival will pay special attention to the ever-pertinent Repeal the Eighth movement.
Speakers include Dr. Rebecca Gomperts of Women on Web & Women on Waves; Ruth Coppinger Pro-Choice TD; Megan Brady from School Students For Choice; Diana Teles Portuguese abortion plebiscite activist; and Donna Vuma, migrants rights activist.
Topics will range from gender equality in sport, to abortion rights, to discussions on the eerily apt The Handmaid’s Tale. The event will conclude with a ‘Separate Church and State’ rally.
