There’s precision engineering at play when you are a band of the scale of Arcade Fire. Everything Now dropped on 01.06.17 and while the US pulling out of the Paris Climate Accord overshadowed their pitch for momentary social media supremacy, it still managed to be viewed 2.25m times on YouTube within six days. The jury is divided on the single. Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk is in and James Murphy out. It’s a comfort blanket for the anthemic faithful but perhaps a little too jaunty and safe for others. Still this is a band at their pinnacle so with their new album set to drop at the end of July they should still have a few surprises in store.
