Resist is a new photo series by Ste Murray that centers on a set of photographic postcards documenting urban plant life in the Liberties.
These images explore the overlooked plant life that exists alongside the built environment – growing beyond gardens, design and intention.
The star is the humble Buddleja, a plant that’s often regarded as a marker of urban neglect, yet one that becomes a vital source of nectar for bees and butterflies during the summer months.
Its lilac blooms bring colour and life to neglected corners, offering a reminder that regeneration can emerge in unexpected places.
The set of 10 postcards features poetry excerpts by Dublin-based poet, Paula Meehan and are currently for sale through the Hopeless Botanics website.
