March may have come in like a lion in Dublin this morning, but it’s all systems go for this evening’s First Friday event at Museum of Literature Ireland (MoLI).

The exciting cultural initiative sees the museum throw open its doors until 9pm, with free admission between 6pm and 9pm and a range of programmed events on the first Friday of every month.

This month’s First Friday event features a series of events echoing their new exhibition ‘Is this a poem?’ curated by Christodoulos Makris, with visitors encouraged to explore the whole museum to discover works of poetry that exist beyond the page.

The evening also sees performances by artists Amanda Coogan, Vicky Langan, Toby Balogun and Emma Bennett, and a panel discussion on the theme of digital literatures featuring author and documentary maker  Ian Maleny, writer and digital artist Joanna Walsh and author James Sullivan.

The Commons Café will also be open late, the ideal spot to dissect the evening’s proceedings over a delicious post-cultural bite.

Friday 1st March from 6pm. Admission Free. Tickets here.
