Thousands of fine art prints have been donated by artists across Ireland for the Mystery Tube Sale, a unique new fundraising initiative involving over eighty members of Ireland’s creative community.
The innovative fundraiser has been organised by Michael (Rubio) Hennigan of Hang Tough Studios in Portobello, who tells us that many of the country’s finest visual artists have generously donated signed limited edition fine art prints, in a bid to help support global relief efforts following the recent devastating earthquake in Turkey and Syria.
Donations to the project include pieces by outstanding Irish visual artists such as Alice Fitzgerald, Blaise Drummond, Shirley Copperwhite, Ishmael Claxton, Karma Shawa, Kym Tracey, Helen O’Sullivan, Kate O’Neill, Owen De Forge and Season Dailey.
Rubio is encouraging the city’s art lovers to support this worthy initiative by purchasing a ‘mystery tube’ containing one of the prints. “For only €50, participate in this unique sale that offers not just beautiful fine art prints which typically cost hundreds of euros each – but also direct humanitarian aid towards these stricken nations.”
To get involved, simply purchase one or more ‘Mystery Tube Tokens’ priced at €50 each, and receive the same number of beautiful prints from Hang Tough’s extensive gallery archive. There is one exciting surprise – the buyer won’t know what print they have actually acquired until they finally get to open the tube.
Each high quality print has been signed, numbered, and comes accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
Proceeds from the profits are going to support the work of the Irish Red Cross, which is currently providing humanitarian assistance following the recent devastating earthquakes in Turkey and Syria.
Support if you can.
The “Mystery Tube Sale” will run until March 7th or when all of the prints have been purchased.
