Like last month’s Knitwear Whisperer, Colin Burke, Ros Duke also catapulted her label into action through Brown Thomas CREATE.

She had garnered a decade’s worth of mainline pattern-making for John Rocha before going back to her first love, knitting; a move similar to that of Rick Owens and Sacai, the latter a former pattern-cutter for Comme Des Garçons.

Since her official launch, Duke has cemented a signature of understated yet ultra-textured, opulent pieces, as well as embracing 100% transparency within her brand operations. The majority of each collection is made in Dublin, the rest through carefully-chosen, artisanal manufacturers in Europe, while its cashmere yarn hails from Lora Piana, keen purveyors of sustainable development and selective breeding.

Duke’s intrinsic love for the natural world is evidenced in her SS19 collection, arguably the most vibrant yet: she started research from a native Australian flower named Banksia, and this ultimately blossomed (pun intended) into “supercharged texture” and deliciously bright colours.

The accompanying campaign shoot is as foliage-filled as you’d expect.
