Having initially launched their first two expressions last autumn, the good folk at Ballina Single Malt Irish Whiskey are finally hitting the road, giving those beyond the banks of the river Moy a chance to sample their tasty fruit-forward elixir.

It is worth noting that when the distillery opened in 2015, it was the first to be built in Co. Mayo in 150 years, making this spring’s much anticipated tasting tour a real treat for curious whiskey aficionados.

Following pitstops at McSwiggan’s in Galway and their local watering hole An Sean Sibín in Ballina, the tour hosted by blending manager Stacy Longworth, wraps up in Dublin on April 22nd at Bar 1661.

The city’s imbibers can look forward to some lovely welcome cocktails on arrival, courtesy of the top-tier team at the iconic Green Street bar, followed by a chance to savour the brand’s two core single malts.

These will be poured alongside a number of distillery and warehouse exclusives, and we suspect that the long wait to sample the essence of Mayo terroir will have been more than worth the wait.
