On Friday 6th February, BelloBar in Dublin 8 will host a rare live appearance from The Cosmik Debris Band as they celebrate the release of their debut album Tales From The Moon. Starting at 8.45pm, the show marks a significant moment for a band whose journey has been shaped as much by distance and collaboration as by a shared commitment to original music.

General admission tickets are priced at €10 and are available via Eventbrite. For fans of original music and for anyone curious about what can emerge when musicians refuse to let distance get in the way, this is a night well worth catching.

Tales From The Moon is the band’s most fully realised release to date. Built as a loose concept album, it follows the story of Will Fargo, a protagonist searching for meaning and redemption as the world edges towards self-destruction. Across nine interconnected tracks, the music moves fluidly between cosmic psychedelia, bluesy grooves and melodic rock, with each song pushing the narrative forward. Rather than feeling rigid or overly conceptual, the album unfolds naturally, rewarding repeat listens as its themes of hope, doubt and return come into focus.

Tales From The Moon unfolds like a journey, with each track marking a step in Will Fargo’s story, from environmental collapse to cosmic escape and eventual return.

Founded in September 2017 by guitarist Mauro Angeletta and harmonica player Arthur Guillon, The Cosmik Debris Band began life as a loose jamming project. Based in Dublin but international in spirit, the band quickly evolved into something more focused, with a clear emphasis on writing and recording original material. Early on, the duo were joined by drummer Jacopo Sabbatucci and bassist Dmitri Retsja, completing the first full line-up and setting the foundations for what would become a long-term creative project.

The band’s original line-up recorded their debut EP, A Walk Downtown, in 2019, but soon faced change as members relocated and the rhythm section moved on. Rather than pause, Angeletta and Guillon reshaped The Cosmik Debris Band into a dual project: an acoustic duo that continued to perform live in Dublin, at the Stoneybatter Festival in 2023, and across France and the UK, alongside a more ambitious remote recording project focused on original material. That cross-border approach came to define the band’s next phase, with bassist Simone Invidia and drummer Fabio Chirizzi joining to drive a prolific period that produced two EPs, Something Beautiful (2022) and A Beggar’s Smile (2023).

Over the past few years, that same process has culminated in Tales From The Moon, the band’s first full-length album. For this record, the band expanded once again, bringing in Cristiano Trevisi to contribute synths, sound design, mixing alongside Chirizzi, and mastering. The result is a body of work shaped by patience, persistence, and a shared vision that transcends geography.

The Tales From The Moon album release show promises an intimate night of original music, cosmic grooves, and a chance to hear material that has been carefully developed over several years. For those who have followed the band’s journey, and for anyone discovering them for the first time, it offers a glimpse into a project built on collaboration, adaptability, and a deep commitment to songwriting.
