Rock and classical music collide with a serious dose of fire when The Rock Orchestra: Arena of Fire comes to Dublin’s 3Arena this October.
Returning to Ireland on Saturday, 17 October, The Rock Orchestra will bring its latest arena spectacular to the city, combining a 14-piece classical ensemble with some of the biggest names in rock and metal, alongside fire performers and pyrotechnics.
The concept is simple, but the execution promises to be anything but. Expect haunting orchestral arrangements to sit alongside full-throttle versions of legendary rock and metal tracks, creating a darker, more theatrical take on some very familiar songs.
The setlist spans generations and genres, with music from Metallica, AC/DC, Linkin Park, Guns N’ Roses, The Cranberries, The Rolling Stones, System Of A Down, Evanescence, My Chemical Romance, Papa Roach, Korn, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Rage Against The Machine, Disturbed and more.
Adding to the spectacle are the Fuel Girls, an internationally recognised fire and pyrotechnic performance group whose work combines fire performance, aerial performance and large-scale live production. Their involvement takes Arena of Fire beyond a traditional concert, with the show designed as much as a visual spectacle as a musical one.
The Rock Orchestra was created in 2020 by producer Nathan Reed, with the idea of reimagining legendary rock and metal through the power and beauty of classical music. Since then, the project has grown into a touring collective of musicians and vocalists, performing its distinctive blend of orchestral arrangements and rock across venues around the world.
For Dublin, the formula gets turned up another notch. Expect gothic visuals, orchestral arrangements, soaring vocals, rock anthems and plenty of flames as The Rock Orchestra brings Arena of Fire to 3Arena for one night only.
