Alex recently attended a major A Place in the Sun event in London and was struck by the number of prospective buyers who were concerned about the legal side of purchasing property in Spain.
Among the biggest worries were whether a property could be demolished, whether problems with licences could affect ownership, and whether buyers could find themselves responsible for unpaid bills or other debts attached to a property.
Other visitors were unsure about the costs involved in maintaining ownership of a property in Spain.
According to Alex, these concerns should not necessarily stop people from pursuing their dream of owning a home in Spain. With the right advice and support, buyers can understand the potential risks and take steps to protect themselves.
