Mitchelstown maestros Eight Degrees are ringing in the season with a festive two-parter fuelled with plenty of hop-laden nostalgia. They’ve just dropped a brace of cool brews that make for ideal fireside companions, best enjoyed while renewing old acquaintances and dashing off your Christmas cards.

First up is Hōne’s Red IPA (5.2%), an Irish red ale kissed with the sunshine of New Zealand hops, resulting in a flavour that tastes of rich toffee and Christmas pudding notes, tangled with tropical hoppi-ness.

The second is Black Ball Metric Stout (11.4%) a rediscovered barrel-aged beauty that they tell us has been roughly five years in the making.

Think dark chocolate, warm whiskey, and the delicious satisfaction of finding something you didn’t know you were missing.

If that’s not on everyone’s festive list this year, we don’t know what is.
