There’ll be plenty of Japanese whiskies on the table at a special tasting event in Pye this month as David O’Connor takes participants on a deep dive into the life and times of Nikka Whiskey founder Masataka Teketsuru.
Inspired by his experience of the Scottish distilling scene of the 1900s, the innovative ‘father of Japanese whisky’ employed a variety of grains, blends and malts to develop an intriguing selection of diverse drinks, ranging from the revered single Malt Yoichi, to the unique Nikki from the Barrell.
With the creation of the latter featuring a special blend of over a hundred whiskies, the informative tasting takes place at Pye in Dundrum on Thursday March 27th from 7pm to 9pm.
Limited spaces available. Tickets €30 via Eventbrite.
