Bitesize: Spicy Spice Bags

Posted 5 hours ago in Food & Drink Features

Twenty years since it first burst onto Dublin’s dining scene, the Spicebox is the gift that keeps on giving.

Originally created by a humble Chinese takeaway in Dublin in 2006, it rapidly became an internet sensation, and as recently as last month was still garnering 100,000 TikTok monthly searches here.

The concept that spawned hundreds of variations continues to evolve, and this summer sees Boojum injecting new energy into one of the city’s biggest food obsessions.

Packed with flavour, their limited edition Cholula Spice Bag adds a Mexican twist to a takeaway classic, featuring Cholula Hot Honey Chicken, crispy Mexican Spiced Patatas and Fajita Veg, with an optional garnish pot of fresh chillies and spring onions to create that authentic Spice Bag taste.

In time-honoured fashion it’s designed to be eaten straight from the bag, and the ingredients come served the traditional way in what the franchise describes as ‘the ultimate grab-and-go feast’.

The Cholula Spice Bag is available in-store, for collection and delivery until the end of August.
