‘Tis the season for catching up with old friends in even older boozers, and one of our favourite December pastimes involves imbibing some of the festive bonhomie currently spilling out of Dublin’s Victorian hostelries.
We usually find these convivial establishments packed with punters indulging in their conversation of choice during these short winter days – former student activists reminiscing in The Stag’s Head, thespians exchanging salutations in Neary’s, and regulars discussing changing times in The Palace.
With all-comers to be found in Kehoe’s, The Long Hall, and Grogan’s, returned emigrés in Mulligans, The Swan, and The Lord Edward, not to mention the long awaited return of The Library Bar… sure where else would you want to be at this time of year?
