We’d have our reservations and the fear of cringe if this musical were in the hands of anyone other than Paul Howard. However, the creator of Ross O’Carroll-Kelly and Keano is an adept hand at wrinkling humour out of the various tribes in our city. Billed as “Moulin Rouge…with slow sets” in the home of the hook-up, it is a love story set on the eve of a Dublin and Kerry All-Ireland Final, when a sweet Kerry girl, who’s moved to the big smoke for her dream job in the VHI, ends up falling head over her flat-shoes for a true blue Dublin team member. Tourists who thought they were going to Riverdance may be somewhat bamboozled.
