It’s great to see that Books Upstairs is donating a week’s worth of proceeds made from the sale of all Sally Rooney books to Medical Aid Palestine.
The Irish writer of books including Conversations with Friends and Normal People said she is no longer able to receive royalties from British sales because of her support for the banned organisation Palestine Action.
Palestine Action was banned last year, and supporting organisations banned under the Terrorism Act is an offence in the UK.
We just checked and four of Sally’s books are in the top six bestsellers this week.
Result.
