Our connection with Dublin Port is tragically dismal. What should be a canvas for culture, clubbing and interesting interventions simply doesn’t really happen.

There is the slightest of chinks of hope in the announcement that the Dublin Port Company is creating a series of site-specific public artworks in response to the Port and its relationship with the city.

Sheelagh Broderick, Silivia Loeffler and AEMI & Cliona Harmey will unveil works which inspect, reflect upon and interrogate connections between the port and our city.

Here’s hoping one of them is a container with a soundsystem that we can all hide in until the lights go down.
