Make your way to Dublin City’s beating heart and celebrate everything Moore Street with this free event to highlight the iconic street’s place in Irish history, on Sunday 22nd October.
History is coming to life on Moore Street as actors deliver historical speeches and personal letters in the voice of Irish Rebels, such as Pearse, Connelly and The O’Rahilly. Children can partake in street games and song re-enactments, while iconic street traders dress in traditional early 20th century clothes.
Moore Street Party – Spraoi ar an Sráid will attract history lovers and novices alike,and is sure to be an invigorating event from start to finish. Visitors will love the musical performances that are set to fill the street, particularly special guests Frances Black and Pete St John. Walking tours led by James Connelly’s great-grandson, Jim Heron-Connelly will take place throughout the day, while a vintage carousel and Dublin’s First Fire Ambulance will also be situated on Moore St.
Everyone is invited to dress up in traditional 1900’s garb for the celebration of Moore Street’s history, with prizes for the best male and female costumes! Moore Street Party – Spraoi ar an Sráid promises to be an unforgettable day for the whole family as celebrations of Moore St’s vibrant history take off!
