Vantastival, one of Ireland’s most unique independent music festivals, returns to Beaulieu House & Gardens this June bank holiday weekend.  Attracting enthusiastic camper-vanners and music fans alike, the festival has forged a reputation in recent years as a relaxed and super friendly event  showcasing the best of up-and-coming Irish acts.

Continuing that tradition, the Riptide Movement and Kíla top the bill this year, with Choice Music Prize nominees Overhead, The Albatross, the exceptional Dublin folk four-piece Lankum (formerly Lynched), and acts such as Corner Boy, MINDRIOT, New Secret Weapon and Heroes in Hiding amongst a wealth of Irish acts on this year’s line-up.  DJ Andy Smith (ex. Portishead), The Eskies, Fish Go Deep and Blood and Fire Sound System feat. MC Brother Culture have also been recently added to the bill.

The European Firestone Music Tour also returns to Vantastival in 2017,  and in a new development this year an online public vote will shortlist the top five acts from this stage to take part in a live battle of the bands final in May. The winning act will take the headline slot on the Firestone Stage as well as Grouse Lodge recording time,  Musicmaker equipment to the value of €4,000, and a guaranteed main stage slot at next year’s Vantastival.

The Glasshouse Stage, an intimate acoustic experience, is another new addition to the site this year,  featuring solo slots from singer-songwriters including Keith Plunkett, Grainne Hunt, and Niall McGuigan (ex. Speedking) among others. Meanwhile the popular DFEi Music Stage run by students from Dun Laoghaire College of Further Education features a line up of former and current DFEi students, while BackwardS is a new late night area in the woods at Beaulieu, where DJs will keep revellers dancing till the very early hours.

Other attractions include The Volkswagen Campervan Cook-off, comedy, art installations, fire performers, festival traders, an Alice in Wonderland themed kids’ camp and much more.

The full line up and festival details can be found at vantastival.com.
