1. Solar Bears
While the laptop-tapping sample-tweaker has become the new singer-songwriter of the Dublin live scene, the ursine beats of Solar Bears have been representing Irish electronic abroad since the widely-hailed She Was Coloured In album dropped two years ago. The Tarkovsky-lovers return with sophomore album Supermigration this year – catch a preview on Sunday night. Tickets: €8 Doors: 11pm

2. Bray Jazz Festival
Mermaid Arts Center, the Harbour Bar, the Martello, and the Royal Hotel will all be taken over for the 13th Bray Jazz Festival this weekend. Some of the more in-demand shows are already sold out, but with a plethora of expertly-curated acts on the menu, you’ll be stuffed full by the end. 3. Batman @ The Screen Cinema
Dinaninaninana BATMAN. The Screen Cinema kicks off its Batman series with Tim Burton’s 1989 contribution on Bank Holiday Monday. Introducing the darkness that’s come to characterize big-screen adaptations of Bruce Wayne’s once-innocent adventures, Burton’s original is the key starting point to Batfans. Who knows, Batman Pug might even make an appearance.
4. The Beatyard Weekender @ Bernard Shaw
Bodytonic’s Beatyard Weekends always ensure an ebb and flow of night-time bliss and day-time panacea. The May edition features Stonesthrow weirdo James Pants on Saturday and disco king John Daly baptising his new release, Sunburst, with a 5 hour set on Sunday. And it’s all free, as ever.
5. Harmless Creatures/Kitty Moss @ Market Studios & Little Green Street Gallery
Art, fashion and theatre collide across two venues in this double exhibition just off Capel Street. Harmless Creature’s high fashion costume design – inspired by the wonderful Wizard of Oz – hangs from the walls of Market Studios, whilst the neighbouring Little Green Street Gallery hosts an exhibition of spooky fashion illustration by Kitty Moss.
6. How the Mighty have fallen @ Monster Truck
Another exhibition to catch this weekend is ‘How the Mighty have fallen’ – an exploration of transience and instability by Adrian Duncan. Fictional and autobiographical tales exploring memory and geometry are fused together over in his entrancing video work ‘Flies that curve fleeting geometries into the place’, and an array of surrounding ‘sculptural objects’ further investigate the theme to captivating effect.
